On radio, Zager & Evans held the top spot with "In The Year 2525," and moviegoers were filling theaters to see "The Love Bug," a Disney comedy about a racing Volkswagen with a mind of its own. That July, Apollo 11 landed two American astronauts on the Moon for the first time in human history, with Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walking on the lunar surface while the world watched on television.
