That fall of 2010, gas ran $2.79 a gallon and Obama was in the White House — midterm elections were drawing near and Congress was pressing China on its currency. On TV, "Modern Family" was pulling in Emmy wins for comedy while "Mad Men" took the drama prize, and Bruno Mars was at the top of the charts with "Just the Way You Are." The San Francisco Giants won the World Series that October, defeating the Texas Rangers, and over at CERN, scientists made history by trapping antimatter for the first time ever, capturing 38 antihydrogen atoms for a fraction of a second.
