By the winter of 2015, Obama was in the White House and the federal minimum wage stood at $7.25/hr — the Supreme Court was preparing to decide marriage rights for gay couples nationwide, while President Obama sought new war powers from Congress to fight ISIS. On screens and speakers, "Game of Thrones" dominated television and Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars kept "Uptown Funk!" at the top of the charts for weeks on end. The Golden State Warriors claimed the NBA championship that year, and on December 22nd, SpaceX made history by landing a Falcon 9 rocket back on Earth after reaching orbital space — the first time a reusable rocket had pulled off that feat.
